COMMUNITY IN KAMLOOPS
Rotarians working together to support the Kamloops community.
But behind these signs is an amazing story about Rotary in Kamloops. For example, did you know that almost all Kamloops Rotarians take part in the Rotary Food Drive? Rotarians drive around the city and surrounding areas to pick up food that generous citizens donate to the food bank. This is just one way Rotary works with our community, for the betterment of our community.
Rotarians serve dinner for PIT Stop several times a year. We often serve on a long weekend when volunteers can be difficult to recruit.
And, hopefully, you enjoyed the recent annual Daybreak Rotary Ribfest, where Rotarians come together for the good of the community. This free event raises money through sponsorship and a great raffle. Every cent of the money raised goes back into the community through Rotary’s support of worthy causes that help the less fortunate in our wonderful city.
If you think that Rotary is something you’d like to be involved in, we’d love to meet you and let you know what we’re all about.
All clubs welcome new members and offer fulfilling and meaningful opportunities for camaraderie, and provide ways for you to give back to the community.
The five Rotary clubs in Kamloops meet at different times of day, so you should be able to find a club whose schedule matches your own. See www.rotaryinkamloops.com for more information on clubs and meeting times.
So, the next time you see a Rotary sign, you’ll know a few of the things that Rotary does in our city. We hope you’ll attend a meeting as a guest so you can learn what we’re all about—you will be warmly welcomed.
